The Problem

When my child sat their first trial lesson at a well-known Selective tutoring centre, I waited outside for the writing feedback with the same nervous hope every parent in this situation knows. After the class, the tutor came out, handed back the essay, and said one sentence: "Get them to read lots and lots of books..." That was it. That moment stayed with me. I later learned this wasn't unusual — it's the norm. The Solution

I have a technical background, and I couldn't accept "read lots and lots of books" as an answer.
